Officers charge fourth man - Bateman Road serious assault
A fourth man has been charged after a serious assault in Bateman Road on Sunday 2 August.
Malik James, 21, of Marriott Road, Leicester has this evening been charged with attempted murder and violent disorder and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday 15 August).
Jamel Tobias Smith, 21, of West Street, Leicester was charged yesterday with two counts of attempted murder and appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 14 August) where he was remanded into custody.
A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of violent disorder has been released on police bail pending further enquiries in relation to this offence.
Two other men, aged 23 and 18, who were previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Winston Lamontagne, 20, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder and violent disorder and appeared at court last week where he was remanded into custody.
Michael Burns, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with violent disorder and appeared before Leicester Magistrates’ Court earlier this week where he was remanded into custody.
It follows an incident in Bateman Road where two men were injured in an altercation. The men, aged 18 and 19, sustained stab wounds and were taken to hospital where one remains in a critical condition, the 19-year-old victim, was discharged from hospital on Wednesday 12 August.

Appeal following assault on young boy - Illogan
Police in Camborne are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a young boy.
Police are investigating the incident which is believed to have occurred on the Illogan Sports Ground during the evening of Saturday 1^st of August at around 6.30pm.
A group of boys aged around 12-13 were playing football during which a disagreement occurred.
An older boy/teenager became involved and pushed the victim aged 12 years to the floor and then kicked him in the stomach, head and arms.
The victim of this assault sustained a broken arm and required hospital treatment.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have either witnessed the incident or knows the identity of any of those individuals involved.
Anyone with any information are requested to contact police on 101 or 101@devonandcornwall.police.uk quoting crime reference CR/05364/15 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55511.

Fists fly at Eastbourne Airbourne
Police are appealing for witnesses to a fight that happened on Eastbourne seafront just before the Red Arrows flew in for their display for the town's Airbourne event on Saturday (August 15).
The fight broke out amongst a number of people on the Western Lawns between 4 and 4.30pm and it is believed it may have centred around one of the catering vans near the climbing wall. It is thought to have involved a number of men and women, one whom was holding a baby.
Thousands of people were on the seafront at the time and reports suggest that a number of adults and children were visibly shaken and upset by the incident.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and believe that a number of people either videoed or photographed it. Please email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 1169 of 15/08. Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 43-year-old man from Caterham and a 42-year-old woman from Eastbourne were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They remained in custody on Saturday night.

Fatal collision, St Ives
Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious collision in Carbis Bay, St Ives during the afternoon of Thursday 6th August.
The collision, involving one vehicle, a blue BMW occurred on St Ives Road around 4.25pm.
The driver of the vehicle a man, aged in his 50’s was flown by helicopter to Treliske hospital where he sadly died of his injuries.
Two other occupants of the vehicle were not seriously hurt.
St Ives Road was closed whilst serious collision investigators examined the scene and was reopened at 10.40pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle prior to the collision travelling along the B3074 please contact them on 101 or 101@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk quoting police reference 0510 060815.
